Maruti Suzuki India Limited sold a total of 115,433 vehicles in January, 2012 a growth of 5.2pc. This includes 14,386 units for export, a growth of 54.3pc. The company had sold a total of 109, 743 units in January 2011.In the car segment, The company reported negative growth for most of its models, except for the compact category of cars that include the Swift, Estilo and Ritz. In January 2012, the Mini segment comprising the M800, Alto, A Star and WagonR recorded -2.4pc growth. The company sold 52036 units in 2012 as compared to 53304 units last year January. As for the DZire, it sold 8637 units (9771 units). The company sold 1939 units of SX4 (2149). As for the Kizashi, the company sold a mere 9 units in January 2012. The sale of utility vehicle stood at 231 units as compared to 192 last January. The vehicles in this segment include the Gypsy and Grand Vitara. The Omni and Eeco together sold 12439 units as compared to 13945 units last January.
